Congress Finance Internship

Position description:

Finance interns will work closely with the campaign’s finance department to maintain and cultivate relationships with our donors. You’ll have the opportunity to conduct research on donors, and receive hands-on experience working with our donor database and fundraising software. Students are encouraged to work with their college to arrange for academic credit.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Processing contributions.
Preparing mailings.
Updating contact information for donors and campaign allies.
Donor research.
Event planning and management.
Attending and staffing local events.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess a good attitude, strong multi-tasking skills, and interest in progressive politics. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and internet based research is required. Familiarity with databases is helpful. Fluency in foreign languages, especially Spanish or Somali, is appreciated. Candidates should be detail-oriented, well-organized, passionate about working in a diverse community, and committed to public service. Availability should be a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Project Footsteps Internships


We are a non-profit organization located in Minneapolis and we work with the
youth to help inspire and empower them to be change agents and social
leaders in todays changing society.  We do that by hiring facilitators
(college students) to lead those group of youth to become the change they
want to see in their lives.

On August 23-25, we are holding a recruitment event for facilitators called
Making the Team.  I have attached the flyer to the event and am asking that
you print out the flyers and post them around campus where college students
can see.  This event will be taking place at the St. Paul Episcopal Church
in Minneapolis on August 23-25 from 5pm-9pm.

On a separate account, we also have internship opportunities available for
the Fall 2011 season at Project Footsteps for students who are in need of an
internship for credit.  The program team is an essential component of
Project Footsteps and plays an important role in helping the organization
successfully fulfill its mission.

We are looking for a team of 10-15 interns doing 15-20 hours a week, working
on collaborative projects as well as split into factions working on areas
according to area of interest and skill-set.  The internships available has
positions available in Human Resource, Community Relations, Program
Relations, Program Outreach, Program Operations, and Program Assistant –

About the Somali health Coalition:
The Somali Health Coaltion (SHC) is a new initiative to improve the health of the Somali community in Minnesota. This is achieved by empowering and uniting health professionals striving to provide outreach, education, advocacy, and research.

Somali Health Coalition is looking for a Student intern(s) to replace the current outgoing secretary. This is a fairly new organization looking for enthusiastic, self motivated students willing to gain field experience in community health. The internship will last for six months and would be unpaid. Somali speakers preferred but all others are welcomed.

Requirements:
-Interest in public health
-Self motivated
-Organized
-Ability to work 10-20 hours per week for 6 months
-Available to attend meetings every third Tuesday of the month.
Preferred qualifications:
-Community health experience
-Prior public health coursework
-Somali language

Primary Duties: The Alliance Francaise of Minneapolis/St. Paul is looking for 3 new Marketing interns for the Fall. If you have an interest in French or Francophone culture and want experience in Marketing and Public Relations, the Alliance wants to meet you!


Responsibilities:

• Complete tasks as assigned by the committee
• Hold regular office hours (minimum 10 hours per week), subject to your school schedule;
• Attend weekly team meetings and other meetings as needed;
• Act as liaison with other committees;
• Present project results;
• Partner with local businesses and non-profits to achieve project goals.
Positions include:

• Marketing communications,
• Event planning,
• Product development of the 2012 French Resource Directory
Marketing interns work with the Executive Director of the Alliance Francaise de Minneapolis-St Paul, working on-going projects while making their own contribution through new projects in the area of marketing. Primary work will emphasize extending the reach of AFMSP into the community and region. You'll have regular office duties – paperwork, reports, e-mails and phone calls – and at least one primary project to put your particular mark on.
Note: Application is for a general internship. Exact positions will be assigned at the discretion of the committee according to the needs of the organization.
Skills needed:

• The successful intern will represent AFMSP to our members and our community and must therefore be both professional and courteous at all times.
• A demonstrated interest in business is required, since marketing supports the financial goals of the organization.
• Some French speaking ability is preferred. Fluency is neither expected nor required, just a familiarity with foreign language instruction and a passion for other cultures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (word, excel, power point and access).
• Perfect grammar (English) and a habit of proofreading and spellchecking is required: You will write professional presentations, news releases and other communications.
You must be able to provide your own transportation to and from our building in downtown Minneapolis. Prior Alliance Française interns and volunteers are also given special consideration.
