recognized leader for providing effective educational and supportive programs that enable Latino individuals and families to achieve positive educational and social outcomes. The organization's mission is to champion the development of Latino individuals and families to create a strong, peaceful community*.* We serve the Latino community in the Twin Cities with both violence prevention and intervention services for children, youth, parents, and adults. Our services range from after school programs for Latino children and youth to parenting classes for adults and domestic violence/anger management classes for adult offenders. **** ** ** We are currently recruiting volunteers and interns for the Fall Semester to help us achieve our mission and maintain the high standards our programming has become known for. Volunteers and interns commit to at least one day a week and choose from a variety of options, including; Group Facilitators and Assistants for our El Camino (*The Path*) Program which serves Latino children ages 5-12 and Childcare Assistants to help care for the children of parents who are attending our Padres (*parenting*) Program.**** ** ** Our volunteers and interns gain vital skills that they are able to use for the rest of their lives. They learn how to effectively and successfully be part of a team and work towards a goal. They also learn classroom management techniques and develop leadership skills. Finally, and perhaps the most popular benefit for many, they are given the opportunity to learn about Latino culture and use and refine Spanish language skills.**** ** ** I have attached a detailed description of the specific volunteer positions that we are looking to fill and a volunteer application. If you have students you think might be interested in any of these opportunities, or if you would like more information about our volunteer and internship programs, please feel free to contact me by phone, at 612.872.6165 ext.10, or by email at **alisone@oportunidad.org**. ****
